Last Thursday, Diego Torres-Bedolla of Rantoul was sentenced to two years in prison after pleading guilty to aggravated driving under the influence in a car accident he caused on September 5th.
According to court documents, Torres-Bedolla had been drinking at a party on the night of September 5th when he drove his landlord’s car into a house on Gates Drive Boulevard in Rantoul. Tests showed that Torres-Bedolla’s blood alcohol content was at .14 percent after the accident.
In addition to the two years in prison, a jury decided Torres-Bedolla will pay $3,200 in restitution. Torres-Bedolla had no previous criminal charges or convictions.
