41-year old Lisa Staples was recenty arrested for her second DUI. Staples is a former Champaign police officer who resigned from her position two years after receiving her first DUI charge in 2008.
In 2008, Staples was charged with driving under the influence after driving an unmarked police vehicle the wrong way on Interstate 72 at around 2:30 A.M. Prosecutors negotiated a plea deal with Staples who plead guilty to the misdemeanor DUI charge and was sentenced to 18 months of court supervision.
